Senior Associate - Infrastructure

About the Role

Lead infrastructure project advisory engagements across energy, transport, and social infrastructure sectors in Africa. You will work directly with governments, DFIs, and private sector clients to structure and execute landmark projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead financial structuring and modeling for infrastructure projects including PPPs and project finance
  • Manage relationships with DFIs, commercial lenders, and equity investors
  • Prepare and negotiate PPP agreements, concession documents, and financing terms
  • Conduct comprehensive project risk analysis and develop mitigation strategies
  • Oversee due diligence workstreams and coordinate with technical advisors
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to their professional development
  • Support business development efforts and client relationship management
  • Present to clients, investors, and government stakeholders

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Engineering, Economics, or related field; MBA or Master's preferred
  • 4-7 years of experience in project finance, infrastructure advisory, or investment banking
  • Deep understanding of PPP structures, project finance principles, and bankability requirements
  • Experience with African infrastructure markets and regulatory frameworks
  • Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills
  • Excellent financial modeling capabilities for project finance structures
  • Willingness to travel across East and Southern Africa (30-40% travel)

Nice to Have

  • Experience with multilateral development banks (IFC, AfDB, DFC)
  • Background in energy sector (power generation, transmission, renewables)
  • Project management certification (PMP) or equivalent
  • Track record of closed infrastructure transactions
